BGN sponsors the INSOL International Conference in Shanghai

BGN was pleased and honoured to one of the Main Sponsors of the INSOL International Conference in September in Shanghai. BGN members and affiliates from around the world were among the 450 delegates who attended this high profile event.

Timing is everything in life and business, so bringing together over 450 of the world’s leading insolvency and restructuring experts at the precise moment when the wheels finally came off the world’s banking system was a stroke of genius, even if it was unintended.  The atmosphere in Shanghai was curious: frantic at times, curiously reflective at others, but the local telecoms carriers must have made a fortune as mobiles and Blackberries glowed hot and embattled airlines struggled to get unusually large numbers of delegates home in a hurry, as anxious and distressed clients demanded their immediate repatriation to home base.

BGN was pleased and honoured to one of the Main Sponsors of this high profile and very successful event.  The Conference was attended by BGN members and affiliates from Australia, the Channel Islands, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Nigeria, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom and the USA.

One of the panel sessions in the Technical Programme, dealing with the Marketing of Smaller Practices, was made up entirely of BGN members.  It was chaired by BGN Executive Chairman, Nick Hood, supported by Kennic Lui from Hong Kong and Martin Prager from Pluta in Germany.

Nick Hood commented:

“This was a superb event, offering unparalleled networking opportunities.  Not only were there many BGN members attending, but many of the network’s banking, lawyer and accountant clients were also there.  The network’s sponsorship and our strong representation among the delegates provided clear evidence of BGN’s unique global coverage to the cream of the insolvency and restructuring market.  We look forward now to 2009, when BGN will again be one of the Main Sponsors at the INSOL International Quadrennial Conference next June in Vancouver, where it is expected that well over 1,000 delegates will be present.”
