Joining Qualifications

BGN Membership Requirements

Members comprise a variety of large, medium and small firms.  They come from a range of professional disciplines, but share an involvement in work with stressed and distressed businesses and for their stakeholders.

They are expected to:
  • Be interested in and able to contribute to international activities
  • Be prepared to attend regional and international meetings and participate and support BGN by contributing their time and expertise
  • Be able to undertake assignments to the highest standards, compatible with local, regional and international standards
  • Be knowledgeable on all aspects of their profession, commerce generally and the economy in their country
  • Be capable of dealing with clients who are currently or potentially involved in international assignments
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from other BGN members or their clients, or requests for information from the Secretariat

Members must:
  • Be willing to refer any of their clients needing assistance in a country where BGN is represented to the relevant local BGN member, provided that the local member is capable of providing the services required and that the client has not stipulated that another firm be used
  • Pay their fees due to the association promptly and pay any fees due to other BGN members promptly
  • All potential members must provide initial references as required by the Secretariat, which must be provided to the satisfaction of the Operational Committee, before being invited to join BGN
